Floyd Agler
Floyd Timothy "Tim" Agler, 83, Ohio City, died at 6:26 p.m. April 14, 2013, at the Van Wert Hospice Inpatient Center, Van Wert.
He was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Columbus, to Floyd E. and Clara Catherine Merkle Agler. On April 2, 1967, he married Dorothy May Mengerink, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randall K. (Patricia) Agler of Wooster and Brent (Michelle) Agler of Rockford; three sisters, Marjorie (Robert) Cureton of Carlsbad, Calif., Beverley (Harold) Griffith of Glendora, Calif. and Gloria (David) Koch of Cridersville; and four grandchildren, Clayton, Ryan, Nathan and Cory Agler.
He was a retired farmer, and had attended Mt. Zion Bible Church and the Ohio City Church of God. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and was a 50-year member of American Legion Post 207, Willshire. He also was a life member of V.F.W. Post 5803 in Van Wert and the Eagles Lodge Aerie #886, Van Wert, where he had served as treasurer and on the ritual team and the bowling team.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Marvin Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
Memorials may be given to the Van Wert Hospice Center.
