Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Gerald Hausfeld
Gerald E. "Jerry" Hausfeld, 73, Piqua, died at 8:32 a.m. July 5, 2013, at Upper Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1940, in Maria Stein, to Albert and Bernadine Wendeln Hausfeld. On Nov. 23, 1964, he married Mary Ann Bohman in Osgood, and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Jeffery Hausfeld of Chillicothe, Ann (George) Curtis of Piqua and Mark (Amy) Hausfeld of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Hausfeld, Jerry Curtis, Abigail Hausfeld, Elle Hausfeld and Peter Hausfeld; two brothers, Walter Hausfeld of Celina and Anthony (Cathy) Hausfeld of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a sister, Alfreda "Fritz" Albers of Maria Stein.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cyril Hausfeld; and two sisters, Mary Ann Depweg and Rose Hausfeld, who died in infancy.
He was a 1958 graduate of St. John's High School in Maria Stein; and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Piqua Eagles and Moose lodges and the Miami County Board of Realtors. He also was a life member of the Amvets. He worked as a barber and real estate broker and owned Hausfeld Barber Shop and Jerry Hausfeld Realty of Piqua.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Rev. Angelo C. Caserta and the Rev. Thomas Bolte concelebrating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at the Jamieson and Yannucci Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Piqua, Piqua Catholic schools or Lehman Catholic High School in Sidney.
