* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1054 AM EDT, local law enforcement has reported minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Racers say event remains favorite of circuit tour

CELINA - Low water levels, algae toxins and funding concerns are a lot for any lake event to contend with over a four-year period. But two arguably greater forces were at play during the 2013 Governor's Cup Regatta: hospitality and positivity.
Racers reported the weekend-long regatta remains one of their preferred American Power Boat Association events despite cancellations in 2010 and 2012, with many traveling great distances and planning their attendance months in advance. [More]

A 25-year-old Rockford man was killed early Sunday morning when the 2002 Jeep Liberty in which he was riding crashed along U.S. 33, southeast of Rockford.
Justin M. Hamrick, 605 S. Main St., was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:31 a.m. crash. His death marks the third traffic fatality in the county this year. [More]
