Audrey McEldowney
Audrey M. Grieshop McEldowney, 91, of the Gardens in St. Henry and formerly of Rossburg, passed away at 10:26 p.m. Oct. 3, 2013, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 10, 1922, in Darke County to Leroy C. Mangen and Bernadine R. (Cordonnier) Woydziak. On May 4, 1946, she married Leo Grieshop, who died Jan. 12, 1964. On Aug. 2, 1969, she married Arthur J. McEldowney, who died Feb. 14, 1991.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas (Olene) Grieshop, Mendon, and Edward Grieshop, Osgood; daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn Fiely, St. Henry, and Carol (Thomas) Hemmelgarn, Maria Stein; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Vernon (Sue) McEldowney, Huber Heights, Edward (Connie) McEldowney, Rossburg, Lester McEldowney, Farmland, Ind., and Charles (Rosalie) McEldowney, Rossburg; stepdaughters and stepson-in-law, Jean Eastridge, New Weston, and Patricia (Rodney) Bothast, East Peoria, Ill.; stepdaughter-in-law, Rita McEldowney, Fort Recovery; stepson-in-law, Terry Coby, Portland, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John (Dorothy) Mangen, Versailles; sisters, Terry Zumberger, Maplewood, Juanita Hake, Eaton, and Sr. Maureen Mangen, Indianapolis, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, William Grieshop; a son-in-law, Arthur Fiely; a stepson, Mark McEldowney; stepdaughters, Mary Lou Wagner and Carol Coby; stepsons-in-law, Daniel Eastridge and Warner Wagner; a grandson, Jim Fiely; a great-grandchild, Riley Knapke; and brothers, George Mangen and Donald Mangen.
She was a homemaker and worked at Crown Equipment in New Bremen for 27 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown and the St. Ann Sodality of the church. She loved gardening, crocheting and reading.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, the Rev. Jim Simons officiating. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery in Chickasaw.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.
