James Moore
James L. "Jim" Moore, 81, St. Marys, died at 2:42 a.m. Dec. 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Allen County, to John H. and Thelma R. (Sawmiller) Moore. He married Ramona F. Ball on July 7, 1954, and she died Nov. 18, 2010.
Surviving are five children, Cheryl (Dennis) Donovan, St. Marys, Jean Moore (Virgil Kahlig), Portland, Ind., Candace (Richard) Darnell, Smyrna, Tenn., Jim Moore (Christine Heitkamp), St Marys, and Heather (Shawn) Frese, Lima; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Driver, Beaverdam, Betty (Gene) Rutter, Allentown, and Jean Ann (George) Obradovich, Toledo.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John Moore, Robert Moore and Gene Moore, and one sister, Lois Evans.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from New Idea Corporation. He enjoyed doing carpentry work, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, going to auctions and traveling.
Funeral rites are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens with military honors offered by American Legion Post 323 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289.
Calling is 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
