Southerly winds will increase today ahead of an approaching cold front. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times this afternoon. Be sure to secure outdoor objects.

Wayne Miller
Wayne E. Miller, 80, Coldwater, died at 7:50 a.m. Dec. 28, 2013, at Celina Manor.
He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Henry County, to Edmund J. and Hilda Dehnke Miller. On May 1, 1955, he married Margaret Damman, who survives in Coldwater.
He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela (Keith) Fledderjohann, St. Marys, and Lynne Miller, Celina; three grandchildren, Matthew (Melanie) Fledderjohann, Columbus, Megan (Revillo) Stevens, Stryker, and Alicia Fledderjohann, St. Marys; in-laws, Marcella (Marvin) Badenhop, Delta, Delbert (Marian) Damman, Napoleon, Diana (Roger) Grim, New Bavaria, and Donna (Jerry) Drewes, Napoleon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina. He was a graduate of Ridgeville High School, Ridgeville Corners, where he held the Henry County basketball scoring title for 62 years. He graduated from the University of Toledo with three degrees in education - bachelor, master and specialist - and earned a UT Rockets Varsity "T."
He served active duty at Fort Knox, Ky., for six months in 1956. For 37 years he served various schools in northwestern Ohio - 10 years in Paulding County with 9 years at Auglaize Brown Local as a teacher, coach and principal, and one semester at Blue Creek as a teacher. He was a high school principal at North Baltimore Schools for two years, one year at Woodville Local as superintendent, three years at Woodmore Local in Elmore as superintendent, four years at Huron City schools as superintendent, two years as an assistant superintendent at Fostoria City Schools and he finished his career as superintendent at Coldwater for 15 years until his retirement in 1992.
He was a former member of the Coldwater Kiwanis, Buckeye Association of School Administrators and American Association of School Administrators. After his retirement he spent several years supervising student teachers at Wright State University-Lake Campus. He was the president and general manager of the Grand Lake Mariner Baseball team from 1995-2010 and was inducted into the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, the Rev. Jeff Gramza, officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church.
