Howard Overholser
Howard L. Overholser, 94, formerly of Coldwater and Dayton, died on Feb. 23, 2015, at Alterra Sterling House, Beavercreek.
He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Campbellstown, to the late Everett A. and Helen C. (Stephen) Overholser. On June 12, 1948, in Dayton, he married Catherine S. (DeWinter), who died Sept. 17, 2013.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn (Alan) Weaver, Beavercreek, and Joan (David) Groth, Urbana, Mo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Clara Hutchins, New Paris, Ruth Thomas of Florida, and Leonard Overholser, New Paris.
Also deceased are brothers and sisters, Katharyn Beanblossom, Margaret Hicks, Carl Overholser and Reed Overholser.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and the Coldwater American Legion. He worked as a draftsman/engineer at NCR in Dayton for 30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
