Minster barn fire

A firefighter blasts water onto a barn at 5740 Wells Road east of Minster on Tuesday. No injuries were reported during the incident, according to Minster-Jackson Township Fire Department Chief Dale Dues. The fire started after the wind changed direction and caused a controlled burn to jump to the barn, he said. The barn and a metal structure next to it are considered a total loss, he said. Firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to the home next to the barn, he said. Firefighters were on scene from about 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Dues said. Firefighters from Fort Loramie, Van Buren Township, New Bremen, New Knoxville, Anna and Chickasaw also responded.
