Delores Roether
Mrs. Delores May Roether, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel is assisting the family.
Born in Celina, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Evon Rhyne of Celina, Ohio, and a wife of the late William "Bud" Rodger Roether.
She graduated from Neptune High School and Wright State University. She worked many years with Empire Restaurants, was a very active member of the Mendon Union School Board and was the best MOM ever.
She had many loves; Bud was always #1, her kids and family, plants and flowers, birds and wildlife, cooking, sewing, camping and that is just the beginning. She gave unconditionally and had a way of teaching lessons in action not just words. She put her family first in all things and to the end taught us the importance of forgiveness and how to be strong.
Surviving is her sons and daughters-in-law, Dana Roether and wife Diana of Ada, Ohio and Darrel Roether and wife Cheryl of Columbia, SC; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana Orick and husband Terry of Elgin, SC, Denise Gunter and husband Steve of Blythewood, SC; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters Betty Jean Arnold and husband Boyd, of Lima, OH, Shirley Rhyne of Celina, OH, Barbara Rhyne of Celina, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Romer.
In lieu of flowers and to honor her memory we thank the hospice programs that help patients and families during end of life, we ask that you make a donation to a hospice organization near you and in Columbia to Amedisys Hospice. May you never need their services, but be comforted that they are there if you do.
We will be organizing a Celebration of Life in Celina, Ohio and will provide family and friends with details as soon as we are confirmed.
