Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Mary Mestemaker
Mary Margaret Mestemaker, age 94, a former resident of Celina, passed away on Thursday evening, July 21, 2016, at Otterbein St. Marys Senior Lifestyles Community.
Born on December 24, 1921 in St. Henry, she was the daughter of the late Aloys J. & Eleanora Christina (Winkeljohn) Feldhake. She married Joseph Earl "Bob" Mestemaker on January 24, 1942, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1979.
Surviving are their four sons and their wives: Robert J. & Connie Mestemaker of New York, Michael J. & Debra  Mestemaker and David C. & Nancy Mestemaker, all of Texas, and James R. & Lorraine  Mestemaker of Michigan, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and her sister, Geraldine M. Gast.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, William Gast.
Mary graduated as Valedictorian of the St. Henry High School Class of 1939. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, and assisting with and contributing to charitable organizations. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, and was a longtime volunteer at church, and within the community. As a resident of the Otterbein Center in St. Marys for many years, Mary was an active volunteer at many events.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 25 at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Alt, C.PP.S., presiding. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.
Visitation hours will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 24 and 9:00-10:15 A.M. on Monday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Otterbein St. Marys or Grand Lake Hospice.
