Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Sondra Thatcher
Sondra Marie Thatcher, 34, of Rockford, Ohio, died unexpectedly on July 21, 2016 in Celina, Ohio.
She was born in Lima, Ohio on August 16, 1981, to Brian and Tammy (Stein) Bowling. On August 20, 2014, she married Ryan Lee Thatcher, and he survives in Rockford.
Also surviving is one son Ryder Thatcher at home in Rockford and two daughters, Tessa Thatcher, also at home, and Grace Bowling of Spencerville, Ohio; her father, Brian (Debra) Bowling and mother, Tammy (Terry) Taylor; five step-sisters, and maternal grandparents, Janet and Kenny Stein of Mendon, Ohio, paternal grandparents, Alice and David Bowling, also of Mendon, and her mother-in-law, Sharon Thatcher of Rockford.
Sondra had lived in Rockford for the past two years, after moving from Ohio City, Ohio. She attended Mt. Tabor Church, Rockford, and was a student of the University of Phoenix, of which she was very proud to be working toward her degree in Criminal Justice.
She enjoyed auto racing, as a crew member, and had a great love of music, singing and jamming with her husband Ryan and also singing professionally. She loved riding ATV's, fishing, camping, and was quite an animal lover. She loved her husband, children, and her parents very much.
Services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Ohio.
Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home up until the time of services.
