Herbert C. Wermert, age 78, of Coldwater, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Community Hospital in Coldwater.

He was born April 24, 1938 in St. Sebastian to the late Joseph & Clara (Bertke) Wermert. On June 3, 1961 he married Carol (Barlage) and she survives in Coldwater.

He is survived by a son Steve & Connie Wermert of Coldwater; a daughter Julie & Roy Suarez of Toronto, Canada; four grandchildren Ashley & Ross Wermert, Sarah & Mathew Suarez; two brothers Virgil Wermert of Coldwater and Carl & Rosie Wermert of Sidney; and in laws James & Odyne Barlage of Ft. Loramie, Marlene & James Heinfeldt of New Bremen, Helen Barlage of New Bremen and Mike Barlage.

He is preceded in death by siblings and in laws Evelyn & Homer Freisthler, Viona Wermert, Erma & Joseph Barlage, Jeanette & Jerry Doorley, Jack Barlage, and Herbert Barlage.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Coldwater and the Coldwater American Legion Post. Herb worked for the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater and then for Minster Co-Op. He enjoyed reading, history, the fall season and he always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church in Coldwater.
