Hunters stake out spot
Photo by Aaron Snyder/The Daily Standard

Lavon Miller and Spike Westgerdes, foreground, stage goose decoys Saturday morning in front of their blind on the west end of Grand Lake. Goose-hunting season resumed Jan. 7 and continues to Feb. 11. According to Westgerdes, geese need only food and water. With the lake almost entirely frozen, they hope to attract the birds to their patch of open water.
