Larry Seibert
Larry D. Seibert, age 57, of Rockford, OH, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 9:35 am at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima, OH.
He was born April 22, 1959 in Celina, OH. On October 21, 2000 he married Karen Donnerberg, they were together for 16 wonderful years; and she survives at their residence in Rockford, OH.
He is also survived by his mother, Peg (Grimm) Wheeler, Celina, OH; three children, Joel (Catherine Champa) Seibert, Columbus, OH, Josh (Brandee) Reeder, Celina, OH, and Angel Reeder, Rockford, OH; six siblings Sherry (Joe) Schoenlein, Maria Stein, OH, Terry (Darla) Seibert, Mendon, OH, Denise (Mike) Bowling, Mendon, OH, Kerry (Jim) Hunter, Celina, OH, Barry Wheeler, Celina, OH; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Kalynn, Micah, and Collin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry L. Seibert and brother Darrel Seibert.
He was a 1977 graduate of Celina Senior High School, Celina, OH and a 1981 graduate of Defiance College, Defiance, OH; where he received his bachelor's degree in music education. He was a very accomplished musician. Although he could play several instruments, his favorite was the bassoon and he was the principal bassoonist for several venues over the past few years including Lima Area Concert Band and Grand Lake Symphony Orchestra. Early in his musical career he played saxophone with the West Ohio Big Band. Larry also tutored several music students over the years.
His work history includes 20 plus years for Bob's Audio and Video in Celina as a television and appliance technician, H&S Company, Celina, OH, Sears, and Moran Refrigeration, St. Marys, OH.
During his lifetime he was an amateur radio operator and a member of the ARRL. He also enjoyed remote controlled airplanes and helicopters.
Larry could fix almost anything. He had the uncanny ability to brighten up anyone's day and didn't know a stranger. His family meant the world to him and he was very proud of them. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends and acquaintances.
Visitation hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday morning in the Grand Lake United Methodist Church, Celina, OH with Rev. Matt Overman, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery, Mendon, OH.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Lima Area Concert Band and/or Grand Lake Symphony Orchestra and/or to a high school music program of the donor's choice.
