Laura Vanover
Laura Lynn Vanover, 57, Rockford, OH died Friday January 27, 2017 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
She was born November 25, 1959 in Troy, OH to Raymond and Lova (Welbaum) Miller. On November 3, 1989 in St. Marys, OH she married Billy Ray Vanover, Sr., who preceded her in death January 29, 2004.
She is survived by: daughter Shana (Doug Parks) Chaney of St. Marys, OH; son Billy Ray (Kayleigh) Vanover, Jr., of Rockford, OH; daughter Brandy (Damien) Kroft of Rockford, OH; adopted daughters: Cindy Peckolt of Caledonia, OH and Mariah Mullins of Rockford, OH; 16 grandchildren; brother Robert (Karen) Miller of Rockford, OH; brother Fred Miller of Celina, OH; sister Janie (Mick) Ginter, Sr. of St. Marys, OH; sister Donna (Dean) Chaney of Celina, OH; sister Patty (Rollen "Cuz") Taylor of St. Marys, OH; sister Mary Jackson of Rockford, OH; sister Cathy (Ty) McKirby of West Union, OH; brother-in-law Danny Huey of Mercer, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Raymond and Lova Miller; husband Billy Ray Vanover, Sr.; sister Charlotte Huey; 3 great-nephews: Raymond Wetzel, Dalton Prater, Chase Miller.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1979) and Rhodes State College in Lima, OH. A licensed practical nurse, she worked in area nursing homes, including 16 years for the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. In addition, she worked most of her life alongside her husband, operating Fat Cat's Junk Yard and Car Lot in St. Marys.
She will be remembered as a very kind and considerate person, who was willing to do anything to help others. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 2, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with Pastor Simon Young, officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, in rural Celina, OH.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home on Ohio 703 West.
