* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

David Heppeard
David Heppeard, age 74, of Mendon, passed away Friday morning, March 17, 2017 at his residence.
Born on January 15, 1943, in Celina, he was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Helen M. Shindeldecker Heppeard.
He married Anna Wycuff Heppeard and she survives in Mendon.
Surviving are their children, Richard K. Heppeard of Theresa, WI and Lori (Eric) Robbins of Celina. A sister, Elizabeth Daniels, survives in Norfolk, VA. Ten grandchildren survive: Stephanie Heppeard, Bryan Jackson, Meagen (Ryan) Taylor, Corie Niekamp, Benjamin Sutter, Joshua Heppeard, Katelyn Sutter, Dalton Heppeard, Brooke Robbins, Cole Robbins and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Jackie Heppeard and an infant brother.
A 1961 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, Dave served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked at New Idea in Coldwater and then retired from General Dynamics in Lima.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mendon, a life member of the Celina VFW Post #5713 and a member of the Celina American Legion Post #210.
Dave enjoyed woodworking, gardening and bow hunting.
Friends may call at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina from 2-8 PM, Monday, March 20, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday, March 21.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday at the Celina Funeral Home, Pastor Rob Glenn will officiate. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery with military rites will to be held jointly by the Celina Legion and Celina VFW.
Memorials may be directed to the Mendon United Methodist Church or to State of the Heart Hospice.
