Melvin Siegrist
Melvin D. Siegrist, 71, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died November 17, 2017 at his residence.
He was born December 30, 1945, in Dayton, OH, to Gerard and Ruth (Droesch) Siegrist. His father is deceased and his mother, Ruth Mueller, is surviving in Maria Stein, Ohio. On February 5, 1966, he married Barbara (Bishop) Siegrist, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Melvin Siegrist, Jr. of Hudson, FL, Melissa (Sonny) Brown of Fort Recovery, OH, and Todd (Julie) Siegrist of Fort Recovery, OH; his grandchildren, Amanda, Paige, Stephanie, Kendra & Keeshia, Caleb, Austin, Natalie & Ali; his great grandchildren; his siblings, Jerry (Donna) Siegrist of Greenville, OH, Sharon (Jim) Jennings of Lewisburg, OH, and Linda (John) Boeckman of Coldwater, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was a granddaughter, Kelsee.
Melvin worked in the maintenance department at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, St. Marys, Ohio and retired from there.
Melvin had a passion for being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and doing yard work. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and enjoyed a good game of cards. Most of all, he loved hanging out with his children and time spent playing with the grandchildren.
A Christian service will be held at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery on Wednesday, November 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Matthew Feist officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Calling is 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:30 am-10:30 am Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
