ST. MARYS - The school district's 1.5 percent earned-income tax request was rejected by voters on Tuesday.
The levy request garnered 1,223 votes in favor and 1,863 votes, or 59 percent of the total, against it. The loss has members of the school board looking at possible budget cuts. [More]

Susan Manchester of Waynesfield on Tuesday night emerged as the winner in a close three-way fight for the Republican party's nominee for the 84th District Ohio House seat held by Keith Faber, R-Celina.
Manchester,
who garnered 5,398 votes in four counties to defeat Travis Faber of Celina and Aaron Heilers of Anna, advances to the November general election. She'll square off against Democratic opponent Joe Monbeck of Wapakoneta, who ran uncontested in his party's primary. [More]

CELINA - In a span of a few moments, Celina went from being three outs away from a win to being one out away from ending their season.

Local voting officials said Tuesday's primary elections ran smoothly with few hiccups but relatively low turnouts.

WAPAKONETA - Auglaize County Commissioner Douglas Spencer won a decided victory over challenger Patrick McGowan, taking 70.1 percent of the vote in Tuesday's Republican primary election.
