* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Dennis Parent
Dennis Parent, 63, of St. Marys, died at 5:41 p.m. Monday September 3, 2018 at The OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born November 8, 1954 in St. Marys, OH to Roger L. and Velma Fern (Frazier) Parent. On June 27, 1987 in Rockford, he married Julie A. Carpenter, who survives.
Also survived by: daughter Jennifer (Rick) Halsen of Belfair, WA; son Matthew Parent of Wilmington, NC; sister Linda (Jim) Zizelman of Rockford; brother Edmond (Rosemary) Parent of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister Trudy (Dale) Caffal of Columbus, OH; mother-in-law Esther Carpenter of New Bremen; sister-in-law Mary Kay Parent-Brown of St. Marys; numerous members of the extended Carpenter family, including: Tom Carpenter, Terry (Dixie) Carpenter, Ted Carpenter, Patty (Michael) Govi, Tim Carpenter, Chrissy (Dave) Ring, Angie (Brett) Yahl and Mark Carpenter.
Preceded in death by: parents Roger and Velma Fern Parent; brother Roger Parent; father-in-law Howard Carpenter.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1973) and attended Waldorf College. He had been employed as a shift supervisor for Veyance Technologies in St. Marys.
He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, camping and kayaking. Denny will be remembered for his friendly demeanor. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many dear friends.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 8, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the James Cancer Center.
