Tri Star alums working on program's new building

Celina fumbled away the game's opening kickoff against Ottawa-Glandforf on Friday.
But the Bulldogs didn't let the game get away as Brett Schwieterman had a big night running the ball and Celina outscored the Titans 28-10 over the final three quarters for a 42-24 win at Titan Stadium in Ottawa to improve to 4-1 and 3-1 in the Western Buckeye League. [More]
Howell sparks Riders in rout of Kenton

ST. MARYS - There were halftime fireworks above the railroad tracks at Skip Baughman Stadium on Friday.
Then the St. Marys football team provided plenty of offensive fireworks in the second half.
Ty Howell provided the spark - rushing five times for 114 yards and three touchdowns and adding an 82-yard kickoff return score to start the second half - as the Roughriders outscored Kenton 41-7 in the second half to pull away for a 70-29 victory. [More]

Ex-governor speaks at local Democrat event
CELINA - Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and three local Democratic candidates on Thursday night fired up a sizable crowd with hopes of a statewide "blue wave" during the 2018 Mercer County Democratic Fall Dinner.
BUTLER TOWNSHIP - Two people with possible injuries were transported to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater after a two-vehicle accident at about 8 a.m. Friday at the intersection of State Route 118 and Kuhn Road.
CELINA - A Celina woman was sentenced to 33 months in prison on Friday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on charges stemming from drug use and the theft and cashing of blank checks.
