Anna Esmonde
Anna L. Esmonde, age 101 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday Sept. 27, 2018 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 11, 1917 in Lima, Ohio to the late Norval and Alma (Anderson) LaRue. On June 26, 1935 she married David B. Esmonde Sr., who died in 1995.
Survivors include her children; David Jr. (Ruth) Esmonde of Snellville, GA., Melanie Hesse of Celina, Neil l (Ginny) Esmonde of Crestview, FL., Karen (Ed) Diller of Ft. Thomas, KY., Jon (Alanna) Esmonde of San Antonio, TX, nineteen grandchildren; Kyle (Linda) Esmonde, Klaudia Esmonde, Khris (Chris) McKnight, Scott (Mary) Hesse, Brad Hesse, Lora (Joe) Schlueter, Karri (Jim) Gray, Kendra (Brian) Stetler, Kim (Dana) Kugel, Kate (Brad) Laffin, Brian (Cindy) Esmonde, Angie (Torrence) Esmonde, Tim Esmonde, Jason (Rachel) Diller, Anna (Tim) Stried, Amanda (Vince) Pastoria, Nathaniel Esmonde, Grace Esmonde, Spencer Esmonde, 22 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great -grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son and daughter-in-law Ken (Chloe) Esmonde, a grandson Ken Esmonde II and her siblings Edith (Bud) Core, Victor (Gladys) LaRue, Harold (Naomi) LaRue, Grace (Claude) Walters, Gladys (Paul) Driver and Olive (George) Warner son-in-law Max Hesse.
Anna and Dave owned and operated Dave's Market and Locker Service in Mendon, until they moved to Pandora Ohio where she was a clerk at the local grocery. Then Anna was employed at The Laurels of Shane Hill and most recently baked pies for the Orchard Tree Restaurant. She was a member of the Ross Church of the Brethren in Spencerville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends from Church. She loved to sing, play cards, play domino's and bake pies.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Mendon, with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday October 4, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina and one hour before services on Friday at the Church.
