Dorothy Alexander
Dorothy "Dot" J. Alexander, age 87, passed away at 9:25 pm, on October 27, 2018, at the Celina Manor.
She was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on July 21, 1931 to the late William and Helen (Loucher) Rensch. On June 21, 1952, she married William Alexander, who passed away in 1991 after 39 years of devoted marriage.
Dorothy adored her loving family; she is survived by five children, Vickie (Mike) Rhodes, Celina, William Alexander Jr., Celina, Rick Alexander, Celina, Tina (Scott) Hasenjager, Rockwall, Texas, and Tricia (Steve) Neargarder of Wapakoneta; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by four siblings, William Rensch Jr., Emma Roethlisberger, Mary Jane Haney, and Catherine Snyder.
Dorothy was employed for 20, plus years, at Celina Insurance Group. She was known as a very caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Dorothy treasured laughing and did not know a stranger. Many of her family and friends know her as "Dot." She loved her beer, was an outstanding cook, and enjoyed spending time playing bingo and completing crossword puzzles. Dorothy was an amazing lady who was cherished by many and who will be missed by all.
Dorothy's family would like to thank the caring staff at the Celina Manor and State of the Heart Hospice for their special care they provided Dorothy, especially Kristy Kneisley, who works as an aide at the manor. Dorothy loved Kristy and it was obvious that Kristy loved Dorothy too. Dorothy would refer to Kristy as her best friend.
Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina with Rev. Allan Brown officiating. Visitation hours will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Memorial contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater, Ohio.
