Thomas Forsthoefel
Thomas H. Forsthoefel, age 88, of Coldwater, died, Monday, May 6, 2019 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born October 6, 1930 in Coldwater, to the late William B. & Cecelia (Schwieterman) Forsthoefel. He married Patricia A. (Hogan) on August 11, 1951 and she died December 27, 2000.
He is survived by his sons, Gary & Ann Forsthoefel of Centerville, Ronald & Deb Forsthoefel of Loudonville, Kevin & Susan Forsthoefel of Columbus, Kurt & Carol Forsthoefel of Minster and Brent & Linda Forsthoefel of Coldwater; daughter-in-law, Amanda Forsthoefel of Doylestown, PA; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren; siblings and in-laws, Kenneth Forsthoefel of Louisville, KY, Luetta Forsthoefel of Coldwater, Clara Forsthoefel of Coldwater, Robert & Shirley Hogan of Coldwater and James & Gayetta Hogan of Celina.
He is also preceded in death by a son Tim Forsthoefel; siblings and in laws, Paul & Pat Forsthoefel, Ruth & Frank Muskus, Betty & Fritz Giere, Donald Forstoefel, Rose Forsthoefel, Herbert & Madaline Forsthoefel, James Forsthoefel, Joan Staugler-Mescher, Ralph Staugler, and Linus Mescher.
Tom was a retired Insurance VP with Celina Financial Group. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater where he was an usher, Mass server and Communion distributor.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force, Coldwater American Legion, Mercer County Elks, Coldwater Eagles, Coldwater Knights of Columbus, AFSCME, was a past board member of the Micro Graphics Association and volunteered at Community Hospital and State of the Heart Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp funeral home in Coldwater from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and 9 to 10 am on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the State of the Heart Care or Briarwood Activity Fund.
