Mildred Bollenbacher
Mildred P. Bollenbacher, 88, of Rockford, Ohio, died early Thursday morning, August 8, 2019, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born October 2, 1930, in Mercer County, Celina, Ohio; she was the daughter of the late Raymond V. and Hila (Kull) Snider. Mildred was a graduate of the Celina High School Class of 1948; on December 18, 1948, she married the love of her life, Robert Paul Bollenbacher, who survives in Rockford.
Mildred was a homemaker and the proud mother of two sons and two daughters. She lived in the area all her life and was a member of the former Rockford Presbyterian Church. She was very active there as a member of the Women's Association, a Sunday School teacher, and a Bible School teacher. After the Presbyterian Church's closing, she began attending New Horizons Community Church in Rockford.
Mildred also served on the Board of Elections in Rockford for many years, where she greeted everyone with a smile as they came in. Mildred and Bob loved to take their golf cart down to watch the grandkids play ball games at the school; she would also enjoy going with Bob to Michigan where they would ride snowmobiles with their friends. They had a wonderful life together, and this past December, they celebrated their 70th anniversary. The two of them did everything together, and enjoyed their family so much.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Bob, are three children: Rebecca (Terry) McMillen of Rockford, Donna (Lowell) Warthman, of Rockford, and Jeffrey (Ginger) Bollenbacher, also of Rockford; eight grandchildren: Todd (Betsy) Bollenbacher, Betsy (Bryan) Schoenleben, Kelly Sipe, Heather (Jason) Rock, Brian (Melinda) Warthman, C.B. Frye, Kelcey Frye, and Hayley Bollenbacher; sixteen great-grandchildren: Brittany and Jordan Bollenbacher, Alec, Cole, Cade, and Bryn Schoenleben, Jade and Aaron Kaehr, Mariell Thimme, Maggie Warthman, Tony Rock, Charles Frye, Ashtyn and Mackenzie Sipe, James Meyers, and Jerold Frye; and one great-great grandchild, Rhett Ahrns. Her sister, Anna Lee Linn survives in Celina, along with a sister-in-law, also from Celina, Rita Snider, and a sister- and brother-in-law, Vickie and Tim Bollenbacher of Rockford. A grandchild by marriage, Scott Kaehr also survives.
Deceased is a son, Ron Bollenbacher, three brothers, Art, Marvin, and Lewis Snider, and a granddaughter, Amy Kaehr.
Funeral services for Mildred will be held at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, on Saturday, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Friends may call at the funeral home the day of the service, from 10:30 a.m. up until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
