Scattered snow showers occurring across the area will slowly diminish through the evening. These snow showers will continue to cause brief reductions in visibility. In addition, as temperatures fall, the snow showers could produce a light coating of snow on roadways. This will result in the potential for some slick spots to develop. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions this evening and exercise extra caution.

Neoma Hoying
Neoma H. Hoying, age 97, formerly of St. Henry, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born April 5, 1922, in Minster to the late John and Rose (Sommer) Schmiesing. On June 9, 1943, she married George Hoying, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2007.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Nancy) Hoying of Coldwater; John (Diana) Hoying of St. Henry; Jim (Karen) Hoying of Chickasaw; Joann (Dave) Schindler of Dayton; Randy (Linda) Hoying of St. Henry; Tom (Gina) Hoying of Bradenton, FL; Marge (Bill) Dulin of Union City, IN; Pat (Howard) Overman of New Bremen; and Donna (Carl) Murphy, Springfield, VA; 23 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Viona Schmiesing of Minster and Mary Schmiesing of Ft. Loramie.
She was also preceded in death by siblings and in-laws Edna and John Enneking, Walter and Gertrude Schmiesing, Leonard and Helen Schmiesing, Edwin and Clara Schmiesing, Alma and Herbert Boerger, Cletus and Janet Schmiesing, Harvey Schmiesing, John and Alice Schmiesing, Alvina and Sebastian Evers, Mary and Victor Evers, Herman and Merilda Hoying, and Justine and Albert Wilker.
Neoma was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry, and a member of the Ladies' Sodality. In earlier years, she also worked at Beckman and Gast canning factory in St. Henry and helped cook for many area wedding receptions.
She will be forever remembered as a loving wife and caretaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. An avid gardener, amazing cook, and seamstress, she put her love for others into everything she did.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 12, at St. Henry Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Cranberry.
Friends may call from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019, and 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
