Amanda Hook
Amanda Hook, 93, of Saint Marys, died 2:50 A.M. Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Shane Hill Nursing Home in Rockford.
She was born March 12, 1926, in Ava, Missouri, the daughter of Marion and Isa (Bloomer) Hampton. She married Harry Hook on June 25, 1982; he preceded her in death on September 22, 1991.
She is survived by her children: Jill Schoen of Celina; Jan (Mike) Hemmelgarn of Celina: James Ross of Saint Marys. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dale Ross; a grandson, Darren Ross; a son-in-law, Bill Schoen.
Amanda was the retired owner of Party Paper and Gifts in Saint Marys. She loved running her store, and she also enjoyed quilting, crafting sewing and knitting.
Graveside rites will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington D.C.
