Wendell Mobley
Wendell Mobley, 80, of Saint Marys, died August 12, 2020, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 13, 1939, in Fonde, Kentucky, the son of John H. and Dallas (Reed) Mobley.
He married Vivian Boatright on March 17, 1962, in Pineville, Kentucky; she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Teresa Mobley of Convoy; Pastor John Mobley of Saint Mary; Wendell Mobley of Nashville, Tennessee; Brian Mobley of Denver, Colorado; Mikey Mobley of Nashville. He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; by a sister, Wilma Pruitt of Saint Marys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his siblings: Harvey Mobley; Leland "Woody" Mobley; Joyce Steele; Marie Dotson; by his grandchildren: Brigette Wicker; Trevor Mobley and Alexis Mobley.
He was a construction worker by trade, and had worked at Buehler Asphalt for many years. He was a member of New Start Church of God in Celina.
Wendell loved music! He played guitar in several local bands over the years with his brother, Harvey. He loved woodworking and working on small engines. His garage became known as the fix-it shop for many people in the area as he found joy in repairing mowers, trimmers and anything with a small engine. One of his greatest joys was to purchase an item that needed repair, fix it, and give it to someone in need!
Wendell was well known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor! He could turn nearly any situation into a cause for laughter! He absolutely and unconditionally loved his family! He was always working behind the scenes for his church with never a need for recognition. Our family feels so blessed that we could have him in our lives for almost 81 years, and we already miss him more than words can say!
A celebration of Wendell's life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to his family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
Miller Funeral Home, 1905 Celina Road, Saint Marys, is entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
