Rosella McClurg
Rosella P. McClurg, age 72, of Celina died at her home on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
She was born October 4, 1948 in Darke County to the late Ferdinand Henry & Frances C. (Hartings) Nieport. She married Edward P. McClurg on July 12, 1969, at Holy Family Church in Frenchtown.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Angela K. (Jerold) Barlage of Russia, Rebecca A. (Henry) Kunkler of Celina, Joseph E. (Michelle) McClurg of Coldwater, Douglas P. (Jenny) McClurg of Ft. Wright, KY and Nicholas H. (Trisha) McClurg of Celina; 14 grandchildren; and siblings and in-laws, Walter (Vivian) Nieport of Greenville, Irene Jones of Maria Stein, Mary Wendeln of Ft. Loramie, Marsha Nieport of Versailles, Robert Gerling of Versailles, Steve & Marie McClurg of Chickasaw, Patrick McClurg, of Versailles, Thomas (Marilyn) McClurg of Tipp City, Susan (Harold) Hemmelgarn of New Bremen, Anne (William) Mangen of Celina, David (Wendy) McClurg of Bradenton, FL, Dean (Darlene) McClurg of Tipp City, Mary (Larry) Eyink of Chickasaw, Mark Anthony (Judy) McClurg of Tipp City, Teresa (Jim) Wente of New Bremen, Donna (Gary) Mix of Greenville and Rita (John) Schemmel of Osgood.
She is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws Paul Nieport, Rita Gerling, Paul Jones, John Wendeln and Virginia McClurg.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, its Ladies Sodality and the church choir. Rosie was business manager for Precious Blood and St. Sebastian parishes for many years, past president of the Maria Stein, American Legion Post 571 and past president of the Chickasaw V.F.W. post 9019 and she volunteered at the Maria Stein Shrine, Coldwater Community Hospital and Briarwood Village.
Family meant a lot to Rosie and she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday October 15, 2020 at St. Sebastian Church. Seating will be limited due to CDC guidelines. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater where visitors are asked to follow CDC guidelines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maria Stein Shrine.
