Rita Heinl
Rita (Menker) Heinl, age 91, of Maria Stein, Ohio, died on Monday, October 19, 2020 at her home.
She was born April 04, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Urban & Rose (Wendeln) Menker. On July 15, 1950 she married Charles Heinl in Maria Stein, Ohio, and he preceded her in 2011.
She is also survived by two sons, John & Sheila Heinl of New Carlisle, Ohio and Mark & Sandra Heinl of Coldwater, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Matthew (Staci) Heinl, Hannah (Brett Warrick) Heinl, Joshua Heinl, Ashlee (Matthew) Botkin, Mark (Donita) Heinl II, Cassandra (Tyler) Helentjaris and Spencer (Rachel) Heinl, thirteen great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Brooklyn, Izaak, Kynlee, Cayn, Jonah, Alina, Vivian, Lia, Logan, Aubrey, Brock and Jace. She is also survived by family members Ruthie Stammen of New Weston, Denny & Barbara Meyer, and Larry Heinl both of Minster.
She is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Mary Ann Menker, Alice Menker, Paul & Irene Kleinhenz, Joseph & Lucille Kleinhenz (Heric), Edward (Don) Heric, Lawrence Stammen, Erwin & Hilda Morsey, Robert & Joann Heckman, Thomas & Alice Kuehner, Mary Ann Heinl and Fr. David Heinl.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein and a graduate of St. John High School class of 1947. She worked at Heinl Grocery Store and retired from the Mercer County Court House Treasurer's Office.
She was a charter member of the Knights of St. John's Ladies Auxiliary and the Maria Stein American Legion Auxiliary. Rita was also active with the St. Anne Rosary Alter Sodality and was a volunteer at the Maria Stein Shrine of Holy Relic gift shop.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio. Seating will be limited due to CDC guidelines. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Thursday October 22, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will be a private family gathering on Friday prior to Mass.
