Walter Pohlmann
Walter O. Pohlmann, age 80, of Maria Stein, Ohio, died on Saturday October 24, 2020 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born July 3, 1940 in Maria Stein to the late Richard & Cecelia (Wendeln) Pohlmann. On June 12, 1965 he married Connie (Borgert) Pohlmann, who survives.
He is also survived by children, Diane (Robert) Bilo of Mason, Keith (Renee) Pohlmann of Maria Stein and Jeff (Lisa) Pohlmann of Hilliard; grandchildren, Mitchell, Matthew, Michael Bilo, Derek, Dayne, Dalton, Dylan Pohlmann and Andrew, Brady, Tate Pohlmann; siblings and in-laws Irene Turckes of Kettering, Dorothy Pohlmann of Maria Stein, Marilyn (Tom) McClurg of Tipp City and Darlene Ruzicka of Beavercreek. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter Sarah; siblings and in-laws, Leo (Lois) Pohlmann, Ray Turckes, Ron Borgert, and Jerome Ruzicka.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein and a graduate of Marion Local High School class of 1958. He was a lifelong farmer, worked as a machinist at Minster Machine and after his retirement, sold Great American Crop Insurance.
Walter served in the US Army and the Air Force National Guard. He and Connie enjoyed ballroom dancing and Walter loved to watch sports, and especially the Marion Local Flyers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Church with livestream at http://www.marioncatholiccommunity.org/live-stream.html, masks should be worn, and seating will be limited due to CDC guidelines.
Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein, Ohio. A private family viewing will be at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
