Claire Stetler
Claire B. Stetler, 86, of Celina passed away at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his residence.
He was born on April 25, 1934 in Mercer County to Harold L. & Goldie V. (Koch) Stetler who have preceded him in death. On February 26, 1956 he married Sue Now and she survives in Celina.
Survivors include 3 children Bruce (Kelly) Stetler of Seabrook, TX, Brian (Kendra) Stetler both of Celina, Beth (Chuck) Matrazzo of Chapel Hill, NC; 8 grandchildren Kevin (Sara) Mowery, Stacey (Bryan) Schnabel, Melissa (Todd) Steinbrunner, Matt (Stacey) Stetler, Megan (Scott) Miller, Laura Matrazzo, Brian Stallter, Cody Stallter; 12 great-grandchildren Nate, Tatum Mowery, Brittany Steinbrunner, Maci Munson, Brady Steinbrunner, Braylon Steinbrunner, Connor Ellis, Jak Steinbrunner, Kendyll Steinbrunner, Alanah, Raylynn Stetler, Harrison Miller, Elan Schnabel and Grae Schnabel.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Barbara K. "Bobbi" (Joe) Ernst and a brother and sister-in-law Eldon (Ruth) Stetler.
Claire was a 1952 graduate of Rockford High School and then attended the Ft. Wayne International Business College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict. He has worked at Goodyear Tire Co. and then retired as a clerk from the U.S. Postal Office after 31 years.
He was a member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post #5713, American Legion Post #210, Eagles 1291 and Moose 1473.
Private family services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating.
Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery with military honors being performed by the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 and the Celina American Legion Post #210.
Memorial contributions may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice or to Grand Lake United Methodist Church.
