Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Makayla Helmstetter
Makayla Helmstetter, 26, of Wapakoneta, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at St. Ritas Medical Center, Lima.
She was born March 22, 1994, in Lima, the daughter of Michael and Scarlett (Blair) Helmstetter.
She is survived by her parents Michael (Kathy) Helmstetter of Ozan, Arkansas; Scarlett Helmstetter of Saint Marys. She is survived by her fiance, Scottey Luedeke of Wapakoneta; by her children: Amberly Helmstetter of Wapakoneta; Liliana Luedeke of Wapakoneta; Braxton Luedeke of Wapakoneta; Riley Luedeke of Saint Marys.
She is also survived by her siblings: Jordan Helmstetter of Saint Marys; Cassandra Helmstetter of Wapakoneta; Jamie (Cindy) Brown of Coldwater, and Justin (Kileen Rockhold) Brown of Marysville.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Ella Blair; by her paternal grandfather, Robert Helmstetter; by a sister, Amberly Brown.
Makayla was a 2012 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She was employed at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in the outpatient department. She attended Calvary Christian Fellowship in Saint Marys. She loved making crafts and dedicated her life to caring for her children. She was a loving fiance, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, who will be forever missed.
Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Dane Gilmore, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandates of the Ohio Department of Health.
