Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Joseph Hartings
Joseph J. Hartings, age 65, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was born on August 25, 1955 in Celina to the late Wilfred and Idaleen (Sutter) Hartings.
On October 14, 1983 he married Nancy (Schilling) Hartings who survives at the residence in Celina.
Joe is also survived by his children, Alan Hartings, Celina, Ohio, Carley Hartings, Columbus, Ohio and Will Hartings, Mooresville, North Carolina; two brothers, Jim (Sherry) Hartings, Vandalia, Ohio, Robert (Lois) Hartings, Piqua, Ohio; and one sister, Carolyn (David) Bates, Brookville, Ohio.
Joe was a 1973 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He co-owned and operated H and H construction, specializing in concrete. In 2014 Joe retired from the Celina City Public Works Department after 20 years of service.
Joe was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Celina. He enjoyed hunting waterfowl, fishing and always looked forward to an annual spring crappie fishing trip to Coldwater, Michigan with his lifelong friends and second family "The Carr Boys" (Mark, Gary, Rex, and Chuck). After retirement Joe enjoyed spending the majority of his time at his second home in Union City, Michigan pursuing his passions. While in Union City Joe made many dear and trusted friends who meant a great deal to him.
Funeral liturgy and celebration life services will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Cisco Funeral Home with Fr. Tim McFarland C.PP.S. officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at the visitation and memorial service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
