Lorene Metz
Lorene Metz, 81, of Saint Marys, died 2:15 A.M. Monday, May 10, 2021, at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born September 10, 1939, in Spencerville, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and June (Wilkin) Bauer. She married Ned Med Metz on February 21, 1957, in Portland, Indiana; he preceded her in death on July 23, 1998.
She is survived by her children: Pamela (Robert) Prater of Saint Marys; Douglas (Julie) Metz of Saint Marys; Mike (Angie) Metz of Gahanna, Ohio; Penny (Jr.) Wuebbenhorst of Wapakoneta; Jason (Bridget) Metz of Dublin, Ohio. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and by 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Ned Metz; by her brother, Larry Bauer.
Lorene was a graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had been employed at Saint Marys Senior Village and also Famous Recipe Chicken.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing the piano and decorating cakes. She hand made greeting cards for many years, and she was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Rhonda Hainer, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or Pilot Dogs, Inc.
All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask, in accordance with the mandate of the Ohio Department of Health.
