Frances Winget
Frances Hope (Worthington) Winget, 95, of St. Marys, Ohio, died 6:51 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born March 30, 1926, to the late William and Nettie Jane Worthington. On September 21, 1947, she married George E. Winget of Celina, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Frances is survived by three sons: James (Sharon) Winget of St. Marys; Jeffrey (Joni Desch) Winget of Nashville, Tennessee; Bradley (Teena) Winget of Huntersville, North Carolina. Other survivors are four grandchildren: Amanda (Scott) Osborne of Delaware, Ohio; Gregory (Tracy) Winget of St. Marys; Matthew Winget  of Raleigh, North Carolina; Samuel Winget of Huntersville, North Carolina, plus six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Pearl Bruner, Ferrel Wilgus, Earl Worthington, all from St. Marys, and Willis Worthington of Lebanon, Ohio.
She was a 1944 graduate of Spencerville High School where she was the Senior Class president and valedictorian. She played cello in the school orchestra and was a member of the Toastmasters Club. Before her marriage, Frances worked at Koch's Restaurant in St. Marys, and in the office at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber plant. After her marriage, she worked for a short time at the Rainbow Grill in St. Marys, before staying at home as a mother and homemaker. Later in life she retired from JTDMH, where she had worked as an aide, the first ward clerk and in the admissions office. She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church where she served as pianist for many years. She was an active member of the Women's Department.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Elder David K. Scott, presider, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys. Frances will be laid to rest at the Kossuth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 P.M. Monday, and 1-2 pm Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
