CHICKASAW - Councilors at their meeting Wednesday voted to authorize an engineering firm to seek bids on the village's long-awaited $2.1 million infrastructure improvement project.
Access Engineering will advertise for bids in early January and Mercer County commissioners will open the bids on Jan. 20. The county is handling the bidding process. [More]

NEW BREMEN - Minster jumped out to a six-point lead at the end of the first quarter and ended up winning by six points. In between, the margin never wavered by more than four points.

CELINA - Mercer Soil and Water Conservation District officials on Thursday bid farewell to Steve Heckler and Theresa Howick, whose terms expire at the end of the month.
CELINA - Mercer County Engineer Jim Wiechart said his office has a full slate of work planned for 2020, including replacing the Wabash Road bridge, continuing shoulder widening with side ditch layovers and chip-and-sealing 100 miles of county and township roads.
