Cheryl Ann Newberry, 69, of St. Marys, OH passed away 11:47 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born June 18, 1952 in St. Marys, OH to Howard and Rachel (Russell) Carpenter. On March 18, 1994, she married Anthony Newberry, who survives.

Also survived by: daughter Kelly (Jason) Bott of St. Marys, OH; 10 grandchildren: Ashley, Rachel, Sarah, Emilee, Haylie, Colton, Kanyen, Dadae, Remi, Clay; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Madge Lawson of Ferndale, WA; sister Ruth Carpenter of St. Marys, OH; sister Lana Hardin of St. Marys, OH; brother David Carpenter of St. Marys, OH; brother Ronald (Peg) Carpenter of Celina, OH; sister Debra Humbert of St. Marys, OH.

Preceded in death by: parents Howard and Rachel Carpenter; son Rickie Moon; brother James Carpenter; brother Allan Carpenter; sister Lora Carpenter; mother-in-law Rozetta Newberry.

She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1970). A homemaker, she had retired from Walmart in Celina, OH where she worked as a sales associate. Her favorite pastimes included playing BINGO and taking walks in nature. More than anything else, she enjoyed spending time with her family!

Graveside funeral rites are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Marion Hicks will officiate the services.

Friends are invited to the VFW Post #9289 in St. Marys following the services to share in a time of food and fellowship.
