Gary Niekamp
Gary Raymond Niekamp, age 65, of Coldwater, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at his home.
He was born on August 27, 1957, in Coldwater, Ohio to Mary Ellen (Bruggeman) Niekamp and the late Floyd Niekamp.
Gary is survived by his wife Janet (Sudhoff) Niekamp, whom he married on September 13, 1986, at St. Anthony Catholic Church; his two daughters, Karla (Dustin) Kauzlick of Perrysburg, Brittanie Niekamp of Cincinnati; his two grandchildren, Brady and Collins Kauzlick; his mom, Mary Ellen Niekamp of Coldwater; his siblings, Steve (Kris) Niekamp of Minster, Ron (Betty) Niekamp of Minster, Jane (Randy) Grimberg of Kettering, Kevin (Kendra) Niekamp of St. Marys, and Jill (Troy) Post of Tipp City; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Sudhoff; his in-laws, Linda (David) Laux of Coldwater, Donna (David) Wuebker of Carthagena, Cindy Lefeld (special friend Vince Lefeld) of St. Henry, Denise (Dan) Dues of Coldwater, Lisa Braun of Ft. Recovery, Kevin (Diane) Sudhoff of Ft. Recovery, and Gary Sudhoff of Coldwater.
In addition to his dad, Floyd Niekamp, Gary is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Herman Sudhoff, and brother-in-law, Gerald (Jerry) Lefeld.
Gary was a 1975 graduate of St. Henry High School. He worked as a laborer and carpenter for H.A. Dorsten, Inc. and worked his way up into the General Superintendent position. He retired from H.A. Dorsten, Inc. after 47 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Gary was a devoted friend and family man. He enjoyed farming in his younger years, anything construction, boating, playing cards, spending time with his family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Mark Hoying celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7 and again from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 8 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association (Central and Southern Ohio Chapter) or to EverHeart Hospice.
