Fans can make bets online or at venues

Starting Sunday morning, sports gambling will be legal in Ohio.
House Bill 29, which passed in December 2021, authorized the Casino Control Commission to issue licenses for online sportsbooks, in-person betting at stadiums and casinos and sports betting kiosks in bars, bowling alleys and other businesses. Licensed proprietors can start taking bets on Sunday, though the local kiosks will not be available for a few more weeks. [More]

COLDWATER - Hot shooting and physical defense kept the Celina boys basketball team breathing down the neck of Marion Local through the first half, but in the third quarter, the Flyers took control.

CELINA - The wife of a Celina man linked to "animal crush" videos was sentenced to 180 days in the Mercer County jail on Monday after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges.
CELINA - A Celina man was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to 13 felony charges involving pandering obscenity involving a minor and possessing criminal tools.
AUGLAIZE COUNTY - The Auglaize County government will use an $83,000 state grant to detect and abate lead paint in a handful of homes.
The grant dollars come via the Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Lead Assistance Program.
MONTEZUMA - Village officials have been advised the lease for the local post office has been extended for next year.
Councilors on Wednesday, though, discussed what action would be necessary should the United States Postal Service terminate the lease in the future.
Three fire departments in Mercer County are in line to receive state grants totaling over $100,000 to acquire and operate Multi-Agency Radio Communication Systems radios.
