CELINA -An out-of-control midsize SUV struck and heavily damaged two homes on West Logan Street following a two-vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon.
No one inside the homes was injured but the driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to a hospital for possible injuries, Celina Police Chief Tom Wale said. [More]

Sports betting tax estimates are huge
CELINA - Ohio's sports betting market that launches Sunday is estimated by the Ohio legislature to be $1.1 billion in 2023 and $3.1 billion in 2024, with taxable receipts pegged at $74 million and $243 million in each respective year.
ST. MARYS - City council members on Thursday set into motion a $1.5 million pedestrian safety project on Indiana Avenue.
Councilors at their last meeting of the year entered into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to proceed with the project.
CELINA - A fire broke out at Grand Lake Family Dentistry on Thursday night, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage to the practice that was built just a year-and-a-half ago.
NEW BREMEN - After St. Marys trailed for much of the second half, a late surge tied the game with 1:32 to play.
