Lola Wischmeyer
Lola Eileen (Risner) Wischmeyer, age 67, was called into the presence of the Lord and reunited with her beloved husband of 43 years at 6:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2022, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with the love of her daughter and son by her side.
Lola cherished the special bond and relationship she developed, sharing memorable moments with her granddaughter, Megan and she loved and adored her time spent with her great grandson, Everett. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lola was born October 10, 1955 in Lima, OH, to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Risner Bowen who preceded her in death. On February 16, 1974 she married Daniel L. Wischmeyer who preceded her in death on March 22, 2017.
Lola was a 1973 graduate of Lima Senior High School and she received a degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Lola worked as the Food Service Director at The Ohio State University, Lima Branch for over 20 years and she also worked as a care taker for Right at Home Health Care Services in Lima. Lola was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma who loved others. Lola was happiest when she was spending time with her family, friends, beloved Shi Tzu, Teddy Bear and taking care of those in need.
She is survived by her children, Diana C. Anderson and Joseph D. Wischmeyer both of Lima; granddaughteer, Megan P. (Eric) Buettner and great-grandson, Everett J. Buettner of Lima; two brothers, Scott (Lexie) Gross of Lima, Charles Bowen of Lima; four sisters, Renee Hartinger of Lima, Elizabeth (Norm Turner) Sarver of FL, Karla Bowen Linnabary of Columbus and Laura Bowen of CA; four brothers-in-law, Rick Dotson of Lima, James Holliday of Lima, Ron (Loretta) Wischmeyer of Lima and Robert Miller of Toledo; mother at heart, Bertha Dickerson Risner; sisters at heart, Pam (Joe) Clark, Fae (Delmer) Marshall, Andrea Compton and Melissa (Gary McKinley) Selby; and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom loved her dearly.
In addition to her mom and husband, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Monte L. Anderson; grandmother, Laura Noel; sister, Kelly Valenti: nephew, James "Jimmy" Holliday; three brothers-in-law, Dana Hartinger, Dean Sarver, Norbert Wischmeyer; sister-in-law, Agnes Miller; and two step-dads, Russell Gross and Ronald Bowen.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Russ Thomas will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A funeral luncheon will be held following the services at the cemetery at the Lima Eagles, 800 W. Robb Ave., Lima, OH 45801.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, at the funeral home.
