Helen Homan
Helen N. Homan, 93, of Coldwater, died, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born December 10, 1929, in Wendelin to the late Joseph J. & Mary (Kaup) Dues. On Feb. 3, 1951, she married Thomas T. Homan Sr. and he died Feb. 19, 2007.
She is survived by five children, Linda (Philip) McClurg, Coldwater, David (Alice) Homan, Coldwater, Shirley (Rex) Fledderjohn, Cincinnati, Janice (Paul) Jahnke, Cincinnati and Thomas Jr. (Jody) Homan, Coldwater; 11 grandchildren: Renee McClurg-Alge, Ryan Homan, Ross Homan, Adam Homan, Max Fledderjohn, Kelly Fledderjohn-VanDyke, Darby Fledderjohn-Saxena, Abby Jahnke-Fittes, Morgan Homan, Leah Homan-Nietfeld, Emma Homan-Guggenbiller; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings and in-laws, Wilma Naber, Minster, Jeanette (Howard) Osterholt, St. Henry, Marilyn (Will) Froelich, Coldwater, Mary Ann (Don) Post, Coldwater, Barb Walkley-Dues, Michigan, Joan Dues, Coldwater, Luella Homan, Coldwater, Louie (Millie) Homan, Dayton, Mary Lou Klopfenstein, St. Marys, and Helen (Richard) Trigg, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by grandson Jeffrey Homan; siblings and in-laws, Harold (Helen) Dues, Wilfred (Margaret) Dues, Joe (Colleen) Dues, Stanley (Dorma) Dues, Leroy Huelsman, Vernon Naber, Genevieve (Gregor) Schmitz, Maria Dues, Lowell Dues, Bill Billerman, Gregor Dues, Raymond (Lenore, Vera) Homan, Alfred (Bernie) Homan, Victor (Esther) Homan, Viola (Harold) Muhlenkamp, Martina (Carl) Uhlenhake, Edwin Homan, Ralph Klopfenstein, and Juliann Homan.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, the St. Ann's Altar Rosary Sodality of the church, Coldwater American Legion Aux. She was a longtime volunteer at the sewing department at Mercer Health. Helen sewed over 1000 blankets for babies born in Haiti. She previously worked as a secretary at Homan Real Estate in Coldwater.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry (due to renovations at the Coldwater Location).
