The Roughriders opened up the lead in the second quarter, then withstood a run before halftime and pulled away down the stretch for a 75-47 win over Fostoria in the Division II boys basketball sectional final at Lima Senior on Friday.
PAULDING - For 32 minutes, Celina gave Defiance a whale of a battle.
But a 99-second span at the end of the third quarter allowed Defiance to get just enough of a cushion to pick up the 53-42 win in the Division II boys basketball sectional final on Friday night at Paulding High School.

The St. Marys and New Bremen girls bowling teams punched their tickets to the Division II state bowling tournament next weekend after competing at the district tournament held at Rossford's Interstate Lanes on Friday.
