Ralph Kunk
Ralph L. Kunk age 75, of Russia passed away at 11:10 pm Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his residence.
Ralph was born June 5, 1947, in Celina to the late Richard J. & Alvina (Otte) Kunk.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Kunk and Carl Kunk; and brothers-in-law, Bernard Fullenkamp and Leo Heitkamp.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diane R. (Grilliot) Kunk whom he married May 20, 1972; children, Jeffrey & Nicole Kunk of Houston, Connie Imwalle of Ft. Loramie, Teresa & Nick Homan of Findlay and Christine & Jason Meyer of Ft. Loramie; grandchildren, Brandi Kunk, Airman 1st Class Wyatt Kunk, Ailia DeWitt, Iona Downing, Adairian Dunlavy, Megan (Imwalle) & Jacob Wenning, Grant Imwalle, Macy Imwalle, James Homan, Alex Homan, Kaitlyn Homan, Derek Meyer, Dylan Meyer and Rachel Meyer; siblings, Julieta & Virgil Schweiterman of Celina, Mary Fullenkamp of Plant City, Florida, Barbara & Virgil Thobe of Sidney, Rose Ann & Paul George of Sunburst, Montana, and Kathy Heitkamp of Versailles; sisters-in-law, Carol Kunk of Silsbee, Texas, and Phyllis Kunk of Kountz, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ralph served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Kunk Construction until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport, Versailles VFW where he was Past Commander, Versailles Eagles and a life member of the Covington AmVets. Ralph enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Hocking Hills, woodworking, riding horses, hunting, and showing his antique cars and tractors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport with Rev. Fr. Aaron Hess celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles with full military honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran's Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
