Nellie Krauss
Nellie Krauss, 99, of St. Marys, died 6:30 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born December 5, 1923, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Tessa (Vogel) Glass.
She married Kenneth Krauss of September 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Bill Meiring) Dennings of New Bremen; by her grandchildren: Christine (Nick) Barlage; Dawn Leugers; Terry (Melinda) Krauss; Andrew (Elizabeth) Dennings. She is survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and by Cheryl Krauss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Krauss; her son, Kenny Krauss; her granddaughter, Michelle Kroeger; by her siblings: Mary Hardin, Dorothy Kattman, Pauline Ogilvy, Otto Glass, Juanita Garwick, Helen Bruns, Wilma Lynch, Virginina Hegemier and Roger Glass.
Nellie was a 1941 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She retired from Goodyear St. Marys where she had worked in the accounting office. She was a member of the Tri-Squares Dance Club and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds play. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling to Florida in the winter months. She liked to crochet and work on word puzzles. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Reverend Rhonda Hainer, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral rites on Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
