John Cary Medford, 81, of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Park Avenue Healthcare and Wellness Center in Pomona, California.

He was born on December 3, 1941, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, to the late Kenneth and Naomi (Green) Medford.

John is survived by his siblings, William (Kay) Medford of Sarasota, Florida, Charlotte (Wayne) Frank of Danville, Ohio, Katherine (Jerry) Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roberta (John Queen) Medford of Montrose, California, Martha (Frank Vasi) Medford of Branford, Connecticut, David (Eugenia Parker) Medford of Tigard, Oregon, and Margaret (Ron Morris) Medford of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sharon Medford, and his niece, Krista Frank.

John was a 1959 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. He then graduated from The Ohio State University in 1965. He spent many years driving truck and selling condos. John was a 1960 member of the Capital University Wrestling Team and served as Chairman of the Condo Board of Directors in 1996 and 1999. In his free time, John enjoyed being outdoors jogging and biking. He also liked reading and participating in street preaching. John was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Hollywood, California.

A celebration of John's life will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, with Pastor Robin Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Guests may visit with John's family on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
