Southerly winds will increase today ahead of an approaching cold front. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times this afternoon. Be sure to secure outdoor objects.

Irma Hoelscher
Irma M. Hoelscher, 94, of Ashland, Ohio, and formerly of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Sunday, May 7, 2023,following a brief illness, at OSU Medical Center, Columbus., with family by her side.
She was born March 30, 1929, in New Knoxville, the daughter of August and Bertha (Duhme) Prueter. She married Ralph Hoelscher on January 14, 1951; he preceded her in death on February 6, 2009.
Irma was a graduate of New Knoxville High School. She was a lifelong member of the First Church of New Knoxville. She was a devout Christian and in her earlier years was very involved with Sunday School and the Women's Guild. After marrying Ralph, she was a farm wife, supporting the farm operations by doing the accounting for the farm. After her husband retired from farming, they enjoyed traveling with family and friends and made many trips from New Knoxville to Ashland, Ohio, enjoying grandchildrens' activities. She deeply loved her family and was always concerned about their well-being
She is survived by her children: Connie Hoelscher of Columbus, Ohio; Peggy (Steve) Yoder of Ashland, Ohio; Lee (Sue) Hoelscher of Westerville, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chris (Melanie) Yoder of Dublin, Ohio, Dan Yoder of San Francisco, California; Liz (Dave) Schar of Sunbury, Ohio; Nicholas and Emily Hoelscher of Westerville; by her great-grandchildren: Christian, William, Isabelle Yoder, and Gracie Schar. She is survived by her siblings: Elwood "Gib" Prueter of Botkins; Nancy (Wayne) Bambauer of New Knoxville. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Prueter of New Knoxville and Edith Moye of Macon, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Doris, and by her siblings: Earl Prueter; Naomi Howe; Paul Prueter; James Prueter; Don Prueter; Ruby Prueter.
Funeral rites will be held 12:30 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2023, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Buckin, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call in the Heritage Room of the church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the church, where memorial gifts may be given to the First Church of New Knoxville Radio Fund, 200 West Bremen Street, New Knoxville, Ohio, 45871; Elmwood Assisted Living, 711 Walnut Street, New Bremen, Ohio, 45869; or the Inn at Ashland Woods, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio, 44805.
