Clarissa Thieman
Clarissa B Thieman age 101, formerly of Minster, Ohio died on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen, Ohio where she had resided since 2018.
Chris was born on January 7, 1922 in Fort Loramie, Ohio, the daughter and 10th of 14 children of the late Frank H and Emma C (Ernst) Boerger. She married Roger J Thieman on September 28, 1946 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Ohio; he preceded her in death on August 3, 1994.
Chris is survived by son, Ronald & Catherine (Callahan) Thieman of Noblesville, Indiana and their children, Christopher & Christie (Eubanks) Thieman and Heather (Thieman) & Eric Hendrich; daughter, Paulette (Thieman) & Lee Pohlman of Maria Stein, Ohio and their children Michelle (Pohlman) & Michael Gillum, Angela (Pohlman) & Greg West and Michael & Jodi (Bernard) Pohlman; daughter, Margaret (Thieman) & Larry Orban of Delaware, Ohio and their children Andrea (Orban) & Greg Brun, Matthew Orban (deceased), Brittany (Orban) & Jared Webb and Connor & Aleena (Eigel) Orban; son, George & Ann (Allen) Thieman of Findlay, Ohio and their children Krista (Thieman) & Mark Miller, Kurt & Jennifer (Kesler) Thieman and Andrew & Katie (Pfund) Thieman; and daughter, Barbara (Thieman) & Brian (deceased) Soucek of Gainesville, Florida and their children Alex Soucek & (fiancée) Ashley Schiffman and Kirsten Soucek & (fiancé) Peter Callovi . She is survived by 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way.
Chris is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Boerger) Dabbelt of New Bremen, Ohio and brother-in-law, Myrle Vallo of Kettering, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Alma (Henry) Feldman, Leo (Sally) Boerger, Dorothy (Al) Wolf, Herbert (Alma) Boerger, Alfred (Louise) Boerger, Clarence (Virginia "Ginny") Boerger, Catherine Boerger, Ralph (Eileen) Boerger, Juliana (Russ)Wagner, Robert (Carolyn) Boerger, Frank (Irene) Boerger, Mary (Leo) Francis and her in-laws Martin Dabbelt, Edna (Thieman) & Richard Frierott, Hilda (Thieman) & Robert Wehrman, Harold & Betty (Beckman) Thieman, Alice (Thieman) & Urban Poeppelman, Elizabeth "Betty" (Thieman) Vallo.
Chris graduated from Fort Loramie High School in 1940 and worked at Travelers Insurance in Dayton, Ohio before being married. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, bowling, golf (played into her 90's), following the Cincinnati Reds, baking cookies and brownies for her grandchildren, taking immense pride in having a well manicured yard and flowers (especially the roses), traveling with Roger, going to school and sporting events of her children and grandchildren and above all, her greatest love and joy was raising her family.
The family wants to thank the staff at Elmwood Assisted Living and the Hospice Care Team for the care and patience given to Chris in her final years.
Family and friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, 61 S Hanover Street, Minster, Ohio on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 3 to 7 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023 at St Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster, Ohio.
