Anthony Albers
Anthony I. Albers, age 82 of Egypt, Ohio, died on September 27, 2023 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on February 5, 1941 in Minster, Ohio to the late Henry & Marcella (Pohlman) Albers. He married Martha Bohman on September 14, 1963 in St. Nicholas Church, Osgood. She survives in Egypt.
He is also survived by five children: Michael & Jill Albers, Minster, Barbara & Doug Kahlig, Maria Stein, Karen & Brian Kauffman, Montezuma, Daniel & Susan Albers, Osgood, Kathy & Andy Bergman, Minster, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Norbert & Jeanette Albers, Carthagena, Wilfred Albers, Celina, Sister Regina Albers C.PP.S., Dayton, Irene Gehret, Versailles, in-laws: Ed Ahrns, Minster, Sue & Ken Hegemann, St. Marys, Jerry & Eileen Bohman, Chickasaw, brother Thomas Bohman, C.PP.S., Columbus.
He was preceded in death by in-laws: Lillian Albers, Wilma Albers, Urban Gehret and Marilyn Ahrns.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt and a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Men's Society, Uniform Member of the Knights of St. John #313 Maria Stein and Minster F.O.E. 1391. He was in the Army Reserve and a member of the Minster American Legion, a former Board of Director on Minster Farmers Co-Op and a supervisor for the Auglaize County Soil & Water Conservation. He also volunteered mowing lawn at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt. Burial with full Military Honors to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster from 3 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 and from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shrine of the Holy Relics or the Maria Stein Spiritual Center.
