Eileen Froehlich
Eileen M. (Froese) Froehlich, 75, of Ayer, passed away on October 5, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Neptune Heights, NJ a daughter of the late Ralph and Mina (Griffin) Froese.
She graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton and her master's degree from Wright State University. Eileen was an elementary school teacher for the Kettering, Burkettsville, and St. Henry school systems, retiring in 2007. Her spirited outlook towards life, engaging personality, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life made her a favorite of both students and staff. She ensured no student ever left her classroom without a sense of esteem and self-worth, and that no colleague ever felt alone or unsupported. Outside of work, Eileen enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family, entertaining guests, planning her next trip, and celebrating holidays and special occasions. In truth, though, she delighted in every almost aspect of life. Whether sitting quietly with a book or laughing loudly with friends, she lived in perfect contentment with the simple joys of the moment.
Eileen lived life on her own terms, but never at the expense of others. She treated everyone she encountered with genuine respect, and in doing so earned their genuine respect in return. Her friendships were deep and sincere, her love was unconditional and eternal, and her life was full and vibrant. Her greatest joys came from the connections she made with others, and she would hope that those connections would remain a source of comfort to those who knew her long after she departed this world. She was a life-long devout Catholic actively participating in Holy Trinity Church in Coldwater, OH; Holy Redeemer Church in New Bremen, OH and St. Mary Church in Ayer, MA.
Eileen leaves her husband of 52 years, Paul W. Froehlich of Ayer; two sons, Bob Froehlich and his wife Sarah of Bedford, MA and Tim Froehlich and his wife Christi of Wantagh, NY; a brother, Robert Froese of Harrington, ME; four grandchildren, Will, Maya, Logan, and Landon and numerous extended family members and friends.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Eileen's name or to Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, 234 Barnum Rd, Devens, MA 01434.
